Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, once again, turned his guns on PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday and said that after getting rid of Nawaz Sharif, it is time to go after the 'Imam of corruption' in Sindh. "The PTI has been focusing on Sindh. We'll not have a sigh of relief unless a change is brought in the province. To eliminate corruption from Pakistan and Sindh, PTI will now go after the imam of corruption in Sindh [Asif Zardari]," he added.
Khan made the statement in Islamabad after PTI's senior leader Ali Zaidi briefed him about the issues being faced by the people of Sindh, particularly in Karachi. The chairman PTI also announced that he is going to Karachi next week. "With the help of people, we will decide about the future of Zardari and his group," he added.
According to him, the alleged uncontrolled corruption of PPP in Sindh is unacceptable and intolerable. The chairman PTI was of the view that his party would help Sindh to get rid of the wrongdoings of the party. "With the slogans of Roti, Kapra Aur Makaan and Jiye Mohajir, venom is being injected into the nerves of the people in Sindh," he added. He said that PTI's message of change is the only solution for the people of Sindh.
Later addressing the FATA Youth Convention here, he warned the government of protest if the work on merging Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is delayed any further. He said if the demanded work does not begin by Monday, he would call protest in Islamabad. Imran also alleged corruption in the FATA Secretariat, saying it is a hub of illegal practices under which even the political agent's seat is sold.
He added that residents of FATA are peaceful people, but people resort to crime when there is lack of justice. The tribal people should have been given better facilities, Imran further said. He said that FATA was one of the most peaceful regions in the country. "The law of Pakistan was enforced in FATA only after 1974 and the system couldn't serve justice to them," he said.
The PTI chairman demanded closure of the FATA Secretariat so that people can take decisions for themselves. "Bureaucrats come into FATA only to earn money," he claimed. Khan said that he wished to establish cricket stadium in FATA so that the young talent can be promoted. He told that there had been no justice in East Pakistan for which the people there chose to establish a separate country.
