Google releases Game of the Year to test player’s top trending search savvy
Bidding goodbye to 2018, Google has released its ‘Game of the Year’, which compiles all of Google's top trending searches for the year and quizzes players about them.
Putting its search results in form of a game for the first time, tech giant Google has released an interactive year-end game called ‘Game of the Year 2018’ where it makes the players look back at the year and tests their past year’s Google top trending search savvy.
The game is a simple 20 multiple-choice question type where the player is required is given three lives and has to select the correct answer to simple questions such as ‘Which word was most searched: Laurel or Yanny?”
28 years later, Google takes us back to ‘Home Alone’ with its latest ad
A 10-second timer is given in which the player has to answer the question, after which they lose a life. Answering correctly will reward them with points. Also, after some questions, the user would be given the opportunity to play a ‘Bonus Round’ that will require swiping right if the particular thing trended more in 2018 and left if it didn’t as compared to last year.
After every bonus round, the questions keep getting difficult. After all the lives have been lost, Google shows how much points one has scored and then player can also challenge their friends or share their own score on Twitter or Facebook.
