President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan on Tuesday warned India against committing any blunder of aggression against AJK, saying the whole state would be turned into a graveyard of Indian forces if New Delhi attempts any such misadventure.
Speaking at a news conference here at Kashmir House, he said that genocide of Kashmiri people had already been started in the occupied valley and urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to play its role and fulfil its responsibility for resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with its pending resolutions.
He said the recent meeting of the UNSC on Kashmir after a gap of 50 years was an important development. However, he said it was only a beginning and the government of Pakistan was determined to stay in touch with the Security Council as the situation in occupied Kashmir was expected to deteriorate in the days to come.
He said it was the responsibility of the UNSC to itself hold open sessions on Kashmir and take steps to bring an end to the ongoing massacre of Kashmiri people.
He said that eyes were focused on the UNSC as to what steps it took to prevent the potential human tragedy in the wake of war hysteria of Indian rulers, and what strategy it adopted to minimise the dangers of war and destruction hovering over the region.
"Without waiting for any formal request from Pakistan or the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the Security Council should take immediate action under clauses 1, 33, 34, 35, 36, 41 and 42 of the UN charters and play its role in reducing dangers posed to peace and security of South Asia as had been done in case of Mali, Sudan and many other central Africa states," he added.
He said India could not annex the disputed territory and the dispute could only be resolved by granting right of self-determination to the people of Kashmir.
Commenting on the Indian authorities' provocative statements, the AJK President reminded to the Modi regime the statement of the first Indian Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru in which he had advised his nation not to commit the mistake of striking Azad Kashmir, otherwise, no Indian personnel would return alive from there.
"We are peace-loving people and do not want to fan the flames of war, but if war is imposed on us, we would fight the Indian aggression shoulder to shoulder with our brave armed forces of the country," he added.
"If war breaks out between Pakistan and India, it would not be a war limited to two countries only but it would have its negative effects on the entire world," he cautioned, adding the United Nations should set up special international courts to probe genocide of Kashmiri people and the use of chemical weapons by India against them.
He also called upon the nation to become united for whatsoever situation in the wake of India's provocative statements and nefarious designs.
Expressing concerns over the current grave situation in occupied Kashmir, he said India had unleashed genocide in occupied Kashmir. He said the occupation forces had detained 6,000 Kashmiri people and they were being subjected to violence.
Despite the situation, he said the Kashmiri people had so far carried out protests at more than 300 places against the illegal Indian steps of August 5. "There is a humanitarian crisis in the occupied Kashmir as the people there are faced with the shortages of food items and medicines. International humanitarian organisations and human rights bodies must come forward to stop the Indian atrocities and serious crimes against the humanity," he added.
To a question, he said that at present, the whole Kashmir valley was completely under siege, and the carnage of innocent civilians was continuing at the hands of Indian troops.
"The whole occupied state is faced with acute shortage of foodstuffs and life-saving drugs, and the UNSC should immediately intervene and establish a humanitarian corridor to save the lives of stranded Kashmiri people," he stressed.
