KARACHI: Sindh Government has approved a summary of Rs1100 million for Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi to purchase advanced medical equipment, sources at the CHK told PPI on Monday.
The new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT Scan), PET-Scan and other advanced equipment would be purchased to facilitate patients soon. A tender will be issued soon to buy new diagnostic machines.
The Sindh Government has also approved Rs49 million others for maintenance of existing medical equipment on the special request of CHK management.
This amount would be utilized for maintenance and repairing of out of order equipment.
The Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi management has also sought help of Sindh Health Department to expand Medical Intensive Care Unit(ICU) from 12 beds to 20 beds to accommodate more critical patients, while a summery to get new angiography machine would be moved to concerned department for approval soon.
Medical Superintendent, Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) Dr Khadim Qureshi, while talking to PPI, confirmed that Sindh government has approved summery to purchase new medical equipment to cater increasing number of patients. He said people will hear good news very soon.
