West Indies comfortably beat Pakistan by seven wickets in 14th over, as they chased down 106 runs  target at their opening ICC World Cup 2019 encounter on Friday, at Trent Bridge.

Chris Gayle blow away the Pakistani bowling line with a well made 50, Nicholas Pooran too made 34 off 19 deliveries.

Mohammad Amir got the first breakthrough for Pakistan after he picked up Shai Hope on 11 in the fifth over. Amir striked again this time in the seventh over with Darren Sammy who got caught on duck by Babar Azam.

Amir picked his third this time the aggressive Chris Gayle ho got out on 50 off 34 deliveries.

Pakistan batting line collapsed on 105 all out against the West Indies, in their first encounter of the ICC World Cup 2019 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

This is Pakistan's second-lowest score in the World Cup, this is also Pakistan lowest against the West Indies in all world cup matches - Previous was 160 in 2015.

Oshane Thomas was the pick of the bowler with four scalps, whereas, Windies captain Jason Holder picked up three wickets. Andre Russell picked up two, with Cottrell picking up one.

For Pakistan, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman scored 22,22, respectively.

Andre Russell bowled Fakhar Zaman, who was looking good on 22 at the sixth over. Haris Sohail was caught behind on 8 off Andre Russell delivery.

Jason Holder strike in the 17thover, after he picked up skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed who got caught behind by Shai Hope on 8. Imad Wasim followed next after he got picked on 1 off the delivery of Jason Holder.

Oshane Thomas picked up the important scalp of Babar Azam, after the Pakistan’s batting mainstay got caught by Shai Hope on 22.

Imam got caught by Shai Hope on 2 off Cottrell delivery in the third over, Imam wasn't looking in his elements at all.

Earlier, the West Indies captain Jason Holder won the toss and has opted to bowl first against Pakistan on Friday, in their opening match of ICC World Cup 2019, at Trent Bridge.

“We announced our twelve yesterday so out of that Asif Ali is not playing. We have experience in our bowling line-up and I have confidence in my bowlers,” said Pakistan cricket captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.
