Arsenal stars Ozil, Kolasinac escape terrifying attack in London
German football star Mesut Ozil alongside fellow Arsenal teammate Sead Kolasinac came under attack by an armed gang on a street in London on Friday.
Both Ozil and Kolasinac were attacked by carjackers but fortunately the two footballers escaped unharmed, the club informed. “We have been in contact with both players and they are fine,” the club said.
In a video footage circulating on social media, Kolasinac could be seen fighting off the two masked men carrying knives with his bare hands.

However, the incident didn’t end there as after Kolasinac got back into his car, the masked thugs continued to chase the footballers.
"It was totally mad and strange,” said Azuka Alintah, who witnessed the end of the horrifying chase, quoted Daily Mail. "Ozil looked absolutely terrified, as anybody would after being chased by men with knives. He looked like he was running for his life. And I suppose he was. I saw him disappear into the restaurant with the motorcycle guys on his tail,” Alintah added.
Meanwhile, BBC reported that the Metropolitan Police have learnt about the incident, however, no arrests have been made so far. “It was reported that suspects on motorbikes had attempted to rob a man who was driving a car,” stated the spokesperson of Metrolpolitan Police.
“The driver, along with his passenger, managed to get away unharmed and traveled to a restaurant in Golders Green, where they were spoken to by officers," the spokesperson added.
