The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Akan Rakhmetullin visited Sialkot on Wednesday to witness the unique export culture and craftsmanship of this export hub. The purpose of the visit was to find out the ways and means for accelerating the pace of two way trade between Kazakhstan and Pakistan. The Ambassador also visited Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) to discuss the possibilities and opportunities for enhancing bilateral trade between the countries.

Speaking on the occasion Senior Vice president Khurram Azim Khan said that Pakistan and Kazakhstan are enjoying highly cordial relations since long and these ties would further be strengthened with passage of time. Pakistan and Kazakhstan were enjoying highly cordial relations and these ties would be further strengthened in future he said.

The Kazakh Ambassador while addressing the members of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) underscored the need of collective efforts for strengthening trade ties between Kazakhstan and Pakistan. The great potentials were existed for the promotion of bilateral trade between the two countries and it is high time that two sides should concentrate on exploiting potentials for enhancing the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries he said.

In his address of welcome the Senior Vice President (SVP) Khurram Azim Khan said that both Pakistan and Kazakhstan should ensure dedicated efforts for future improve the two way trade. He said that Pakistan is also keen to strengthen ties with Kazakhstan through the development of China Pakistan Economic corridor and connectivity projects which would ensure regional development and prosperity.

It is encouraging that Pakistan and Kazakhstan are committed and making joint efforts towards promotion of bilateral trade between the two countries he said. Khan further added that in order to overcome the problems for progressive development in every trade field it is important that both sides should develop s coordinated approach for the betterment of the two countries.

We are following the global economic agenda by adopting the best practices compatible to the international standards and this regard while we are also an avid supporter of free trade and economy he added. The SVP further stated that trade volume between the two countries in fiscal year 2018 was US84 Million dollar and the figures were not encouraging but there was a lot of potential to increase the two-way trade between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
