President Site Association of Industry, Suleman Chawla, has urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to issue immediate order to cancel Nepra permission to K-Electric to collect fuel charges adjustment (FCA) of three years (from July 2016 to June 2019) from the consumers.

Rejecting the permission granted by Nepra to K-Electric to collect fuel charges adjustment (FCA) of three years (from July 2016 to June 2019) from the consumers in next 9 months and has appealed Prime Minister Imran Khan to look into the matter and do needful to give relief to consumers of K-Electric.

Chawla further said that allowing K-Electric to collect 3 years fuel charges adjustments from consumers is beyond comprehension who are already burdened with higher tariff. "It is quite contrary to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan who has repeatedly stated that the government wants ease of doing business, industrial development and export promotion in the country and will provide conducive environment for the purpose", added Chawla.

He said that such steps of government-owned entities like Nepra are against the vision of the prime minister, to which, the business community of Karachi has shown concerns and want the government to remove such hurdles in the way of doing business.

Suleman Chawla said that it is injustice to pass on the burden of defaulters to those who pay bills regularly.
