‘Saving Face’ receives Best Documentary Film award at NYIFF

KARACHI: The Academy Award winning film ‘Saving Face’, co-directed by Daniel Junge and Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, earned the Best Documentary Film honour at the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) 2012.

The NY Indian Film Festival is North America’s oldest and most prestigious event for feature films, documentaries, and short films of the Indian sub-continent.

The film ‘Saving Face’ was the only movie from Pakistan to be screened at the event that received much appreciation and excellent remarks from critics.

The film earlier received recognition at various other film festivals across the world.
