KARACHI: Kareena Kapoor has taken a straightforward jibe at rival Katrina Kaif not off-screen but on-screen. There is a dialogue in her movie, “Heroine” where she took a dig at the actress of foreign origin akin to Kaif.
In Madhur Bhadarkar's “Heroine”, Kapoor plays a successful actress. A leading website reveals that there is a scene in Heroine where Kapoor was questioned by journalists. One of them asked her to comment about a foreign actress who has been experiencing a successful career in Bollywood.
Kapoor who is playing actress Mahi replied the leading actress (Kaif) has climbed up the success ladder only because her boyfriend is a top star (Salman Khan). She even went to say that her passport needs to be checked to identify her real name, age and country of origin.
As we all know that Bhandarkar films are always inspired by real life characters and incidents. This particular scene that he incorporated in the film is deemed not out of illusion but it is adopted from reality.
Infact, the same comment about Kaif was made by Deepika Padukone on the TV show “Koffee with Karan” which stir the film industry.
It has also been said that initially Kapoor was reluctant to perform this scene but was taken into confidence by Director Bhandarkar who reasoned that these days there are many aspiring actresses who come to India to try their luck in films.
Well, we will get to see how Kapoor took a dig at Kaif on-screen only when Heroine will hit the silver screen in September.
