He said that preventive measures should not only be taken two or three days before elections but creation of a free and friendly atmosphere should be started from today so that people realise presence of a free atmosphere.
He said that extensive patrolling and close coordination with the contesting candidates be ensured. He assured the Police Force that he is committed to the empowerment of Sindh Police and also intends to strengthen them as well to ensure the protection of the people.
He directed the officers to remain fully impartial while dealing with the administrative matters and ensure easy access of each voter to the polling booth. He also directed them to provide full support to the Election Commission and the judiciary in conducting free and fair elections.
The Commissioner Hyderabad Division Jamal Mustafa Syed while briefing the meeting said that his administration has provided staff and transport support to the Election Commission and the judiciary.
He said that all Deputy Commissioners of his division are in close coordination with the Election Commission to provide them each facility.
The DIG Police Hyderabad Akram Naeem while briefing the meeting informed that a foolproof security plan has been prepared for the forthcoming general elections.
He said that 25,000 police personnel are being deployed not only to maintain the law and order before and during the elections but also to ensure free and fair elections.
In addition to having good police teams, he said we have arranged extensive police patrolling, security to contesting members, election commission, judicial officers and other stakeholders as well.
He said that the sensitive polling stations have been detected where special arrangements for security would be made.
The DIG said that he was optimistic that the forthcoming elections would be held in a conducive and free atmosphere.
