LAHORE: A full bench of the Lahore High Court Wednesday sought details of PML-Q leader Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain's loans from State Bank of Pakistan and the Muslim Commercial Bank by April 26.

The bench comprising Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi passed the orders on a petition filed by Ch Wajahat Hussain against election tribunal order which declared him ineligible.

As the proceedings started, respondent Nawabzada Ghazanfar Gull's counsel told the court that Wajahat Hussain got his loans written off illegally. Therefore, he was not qualified to contest elections.

However, Wajahat's counsel submitted that the petitioner did not get his loans written off but they were restructured.

The bench after hearing arguments sought loan details from SBP and MCB by April 26.

On last hearing, the bench provisionally allowed PML-Q leader Ch. Wajahat Hussain to contest elections from NA-104 seat, after suspending order of election tribunal. But it observed that the interim relief given to the petitioner would be subject to the final decision on his petition.
