Kinh Do Corp, the country's biggest confectionery producer, jumped 6.87 percent to an intra-day high in nearly three weeks, after the firm said to seek shareholders' approval to pay a cash dividend of 20,000 dong ($0.94) per share.
Dairy product maker Vinamilk advanced 3.52 percent, and VietinBank, Vietnam's top partly-private lender by assets, climbed 3.51 percent, having eased from a 10-month intra-day high in early trade, Reuters data showed.
The remaining shares moved range-bound in moderate volume, after investors took profits on Monday from some strong gains that brought the market near a two-month high close last week.
