Anti Terrorist Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has extended the pre-arrest bail of PPP leader and MNA Zamrud Khan, up to May 11, in a case registered against him by a driver of Varan Tours for blazing a bus of the company.
The Judge of the ATC-2 Safder Hussain Malik, while rejecting the plea of the police, has allowed Zamrud Khan to submit his written statement in the court.
Zamrud Khan appeared in the special court and pleaded before the learned judge that the case made against him is baseless, fabricated and politically motivated with malafide intentions.
The prosecution pleaded before the court that Zamrud Khan was not included in the investigation due to pre-arrest bail so that the court should not extend the bail of the MNA and he will be taken into custody for investigation.
The counsels of Zamrud Khan prayed the court to extend the bail of the MNA and allow him to submit a written statement in the court.
Accepting the plea of the defence counsels the learned judge extended the pre-arrest bail of Zamrud Khan to May 11 and allowed him to submit a written statement in the court.
