Former Chairman Pakistan Sugar Mills Association and Member Executive Committee LCCI, Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf has urged the government to announce significant reduction in call charges so that economic activities could boost with the broadening of communication network.
In a press statement here on Wednesday Zaka said the communication facilities played an important role in building up the economy.
According to him, the government had ensured low mark up on bank loans for the businessmen, which was a need of an hour.
But, he said, the government should also make sure to reduce the telephone call rates in the coming budget.
He was of the view that the PTCL should not only bring down the local call rates but international call rates also.
He hoped that President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Jamali and the economic managers of the country would ensure less expensive and fast communication system, to further reduce the production cost.
