LSE board finalises name of new managing director

The Governing Board of the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) in its meeting held on Wednesday, finalised the name of the new managing director/chief executive of the LSE.
The board has unanimously approved the name of the new MD which has been sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission Pakistan (SECP) for necessary approval, Syed Asim Zafar said when contacted by Business Recorder.
He said "we expect the SECP will accord the approval for the same in a day or two and the new MD will take charge of his office within a month. He said out of 6 candidates four were shortlisted by the board.
The seat fell vacant after resignation of Samir Ahmed some time back. However, the LSE board had requested him to continue till the month of April. However, Samir will relinquish the charge on May 8, 2004. On that day he will also be attending his last board meeting.
