Police failed to arrest the alleged rapists-cum-killers in spite of elapsing 24 hours. However, Vehari District Police Officer Syed Mujahid Ali Shah assured that culprits would soon be arrested.
According to detail, two youth jumped into a house of a labourer in his absence, and they overpowered the Rashidan Bibi and her 16 year old daughter, Jamila Bibi, and then they subjected the girl to gang-rape at the hatchet point.
Later, they strangulated her to death with her own 'Dupatta' in Chak No 315/EB (Burewala)
"We have registered a case against the culprits in the light of medical report which revealed that she was subjected to gang-rape before strangulating her to death, and we are also investigating this thoroughly," said DPO.
The mother of ill-fated girl told newsmen that she and her daughter were sleeping on Sunday night.
At 0200 am, Mulazim Hussain and Muhammad Arshad armed with hatchets jumped into her house, and they caught hold them.
She said they tied her with rope, and took her daughter Jamila to a room where they subjected her to gang-rape. Later, they strangulated her to death.
