With a view to attracting foreign investment in the country, the Ministry of Industries and Production in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) and the Pakistan Automobile Corporation (Paco) is going to set up a Business Support Centre at Lahore.
Federal Minister for Industries and Production Liaquat Ali Jatoi on Thursday inspected the arrangements made at the proposed centre.
Later talking to the newsmen, the minister said that the Business Support Centre to be set up at Lahore was being structured on the pattern of the centre already working in PIDC building Karachi.
The centre, he said, would provide all sorts of business advisory services with a complete set of the required infrastructure.
He added that the centre would also provide one-window facility to the foreign investors and the overseas Pakistanis.
Jatoi said that in this centre, representatives of other ministries and agencies would also be included, to expedite the implementation of the projects, apart from assisting them in conducting feasibility studies and procedural systems as per requirements of Government of Pakistan.
He said that similar type of centre would also be set up in Islamabad.
