US-led coalition troops have arrested at least 25 terrorists, including suspected Taleban fighters and foreign allies in south-eastern Afghanistan, the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) reported on Sunday.
The operation in Zabul province was conducted in the remote town of Naubahar on Friday, it said quoting provincial governor Khial Mohammad Husaini.
The governor told the Pakistan-based agency that coalition troops had captured at least 25 people, including some Taleban fighters, Arab and Pakistani nationals.
Husaini denied speculation that senior Taleban commander Rozi Khan had also been captured, it said.
The operation came as five Afghan soldiers were killed in an ambush while travelling from the provincial capital, Qalat, to the highway town of Shahjoy in Zabul province on Monday.
