Anti-pollution drive launched

Islamabad Traffic Police in collaboration with ministry of environment has started anti-pollution drive to check vehicles emitting harmful smoke.
Talking to APP, the superintendent of Traffic Police Zubair Hashmi said three mobile teams had been constituted which gauged smoke emissions and directed the owners to properly tune up their vehicles.
The SP said it was not revenue generating campaign, instead aimed at creating awareness among the masses to protect environment from pollution being caused by the smoke emitting vehicles.
Traffic teams take away documents of the vehicles and return after the owners get their vehicles tuned up, he said.
The campaign will continue till May 15.
