The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), Punjab, through a resolution adopted in its meeting here on Sunday demanded fresh by-elections in Karachi.
The meeting was held at Mansoora, chaired by Punjab MMA President Hafiz Mohammad Idrees.
A few other resolutions regarding condemnation of violence on the occasion of by-elections in Karachi, ban on wheat movement, Hudood ordinance, murders of six people in Mughalpura were also adopted in the meeting.
The meeting decided to follow the decision of the MMA Supreme Council to be held on May 16, regarding launching of mass-contact drive from Bahawalpur at the end of third week of the current month.
The meeting also discussed in detail, the political situation prevailing in the country.
Liaquat Baloch, Mohammad Riaz Durrani, Maulana Amir Hussain Gilani, Maulana Mohammad Amjad, Dr Javaid Awan, Allama Zulfiqar Haider, Qasim Raza, Rashid Ludhianvi, Waqar Jaffery, Azhar Iqbal, and Abdul Wahab Niazi attended the meeting.
