KARACHI: Syed Awais Ali Shah, the son of Chief Justice Sindh High Court Sajjad Ali Shah, has raised many questions on free movement of terrorists.

The security forces have obtained information from Shah about operations of terrorist organisations in Sindh that operate in connivance with local influential people. These influential people kidnap high profile figures for money and hand the abductees to terrorist groups for money.

In light of statements of Shah, there are many influential figures in Sindh who are involved in the menace of kidnappings for ransom and are working in close liaison with the terrorist gangs in the province.

Meanwhile, high-ranked Police officials especially DIG Sultan Khawaja and Muneer Shaikh have interviewed Shah and also obtained information.

According to sources, Shah told them that his kidnappers were Pashto-speaking and that his kidnappers made attempts to leave Karachi along with him during Eid holidays but they could not carry out their plan owing to tough security measures in the metropolis during the holidays.

The DIGs have informed the IG about Shah’s statement and a report on this would be submitted in the Supreme Court on Thursday.—NNI
