The traders' community is still indecisive over MMA's call of observing complete shutter down strike across the country on April 2. However, the office bearers of Pakistan Qaumi Tajir Ittehad are consulting representatives of different trade bodies to discuss the MMA's strike call so that unanimous decision could be taken. Central President Pakistan Qaumi Tajir Ittehad, Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad told Business Recorder that a meeting of trade representatives from different cities of the country would be held in Lahore, Multan or Faisalabad within next couple of days.
"Though, escalating price hike and deteriorating law and order situation are problems confronting to people but the call has been given by the political alliance, and we want to adopt a unanimous decision on the issue," he maintained.
During traders' strike in past over the issue of GST, all the political parties including Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Muslim League, Jamaat-i-Islami supported the traders' cause. "Being non-political organisation, we can not support the political parties without consulting the stakeholders and their representatives," he added.
