Rana Munir Hussain has been elected as president of the Lahore Tax Bar Association (LTBA) in its annual elections held here on Wednesday. Rana Munir Hussain bagged 402 votes, while his rival candidate Zahid Pervez got 299 votes. Sheikh Naeem Zafar was elected vice president with 378 votes with a lead of 54 votes over his rival Jamil Baig. Muhammad Munir Ijaz was elected general secretary by securing 368 votes. He defeated Jamal Butt with a margin of 52 votes. Chaudhry Zahid Attique and Faisal Rasheed Hashmi were elected finance and joint secretaries, respectively.
They secured 362 and 358 votes, respectively. After the election, Rana Munir stressed upon the need to enhance the tax base. He proposed to the government to benefit from the expertise of tax bars to improve the tax system.
