In an early morning raid on Saturday on Idara-e-Noor-e-Huq, police recovered objectionable literature, explosives, and arms and ammunition, and arrested nine miscreants. Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Salahuddin Haider, in a statement said that law enforcement officials raided JI office, Idara-e-Noor-e-Huq, and recovered four bags of explosives, each containing 250 grams, four TT pistols, 18 rounds and plastic bottles used in making bombs. He said that an FIR, No 94/2005, had been registered under Arms Act against four persons for keeping explosive material.
The arrested people were identified as Kaleemur Rehman s/o Khalilur Rehman, M Asghar s/o Muhammed Ahmed, Badar Iraj s/o Mirajuddin, Mehmood Hamid s/o Muhammed Hamid, Muhammed Aslam Mujahid s/o Allah Noor, Muhammad Iqbal s/o Abdul Hafeez, Muhammed Rashid Qureshi s/o Mirajuddin and Zafar Iqbal s/o Islamuddin. One is still to be identified.
Those who escaped have been identified as Gul Muhammed Soomro, Sikander Asad, Rehan Abid Ali, and Atif Bashir.
