Pakistan skipper Inzamamul Haq said on Saturday he looked forward to coming one-day encounters against India rather than being overly disheartened after 87 runs loss in first of the six-matches series. "We didn't play well enough but that doesn't mean we are going to get disheartened", he said. "We will bounce back in the coming encounters".
Nevertheless, he said, India had taken a good start in the series with victory boosting their morale. "Our batting was insipid today and hot and humid conditions were partially to blame," he said.
"We had a good opening partnership going but then the wickets starting falling which slowed our tempo," he said. "I will say the series has just started and I hope to have my batsmen click in the coming games.
However, the Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly said that the pressure would now be on Pakistan in the coming encounters. "This victory will greatly restore the confidence of my batsmen after they had appeared to be shaky after the final Test at Bangalore against Pakistan."
Indian batsman Virender Sehwag, who was named man-of-the-match, said he was confident after taking the fight to the Pakistanis even after his team had lost two batsmen early.
"I was confident we will recover as long as me and Rahul Dravid were together at the crease," he said.
