Wheat rose substantially on the opening day on the commodity wholesale markets during the week ended on June 11, 2005, though later it recovered the loss. Other commodities were either mixed or lower. The items fluctuated were wheat, rice, dyes, plastic mouldings etc. On the week opening day only variation was in wheat which rose by Rs 30 to Rs 1150.
On Tuesday dyes were noted having under gone changes on the down side: Black EX down Rs 18 to Rs 110, Orange GR down Rs 40 to Rs 125, yellow down to be quoted at Rs 130, blue BNG down Rs 70 to Rs 200 and Golden K2R quoted at Rs 1700. Wheat was quoted lower at Rs 1050/1055 and Irri white both type shed Rs 10 1080/1090.
On the third day changes were marked in plastic mouldings: The HDPE film Saudia 952 down Rs 1.25 to Rs 34.75, Mobil down Rs 1.25 to Rs 34.75, TR144 down Re 1 to Rs 34.50, HDPE injection Sabic 500056 down Re 1 to Rs 37, Mobil 016 down 50 paisa to Rs 37, Lucky down Re 1 to Rs 36, HDPE Kuwait up Rs 3 to Rs 40, Marlex down 50 paisa to Rs 36.50, Iran down Rs 1.50 to Rs 35.50, LDPE 347 down Rs 2 Rs 42, MG 20 down Re 1 to Rs 45, MG 70 down Re 1 to Rs 46, LLDPE Sabic 500026 down Rs 3 to Rs 45, polypropylene film Saudia down 75 paisa to Rs 36.75, India up 50 paisa to Rs 38.75, polypropylene injection Saudia down 75 paisa to Rs 36.75, India down 50 paisa to Rs 37, Kuwait down 50 paisa to Rs 37, polypropylene BASF up Rs 100 to Rs 3100, Pakistani was quoted at Rs 2415, high impact Pakistan was quoted at Rs 2560 and BASF quoted at Rs 2750.
Rice, Irri-white broken lost Rs 10 to Rs 1070/1080, wheat Mexipak, shed Rs 10 to Rs 1140/1145, on Thursday milk powder Euro Gold rose by Rs 200 to Rs 4800, and Meclo Veg quoted at Rs 4275, Polac down Rs 15 to Rs700.
Grain markets on Thursday showed wheat quoted higher at Rs 1145. Bajra better type shed Rs 50 to Rs 2250. On Friday wholesale markets reported sluggish trend and no change in commodities prices.
However some kirana items were marked undergoing changes such as nutmeg down Rs 200 to Rs 8000, big cardamom up Rs 500 to Rs 7200, dry ginger up Rs 200 to Rs 8200, Isbaghol Bhoosi down Rs 300 to Rs 8500, aniseed down Rs 200 to Rs 4600, corrianderseed down Rs 250 to Rs 1800 and tamarind up Rs 40 to Rs 920.
