Vice Commissioner Kashgar Administration and leader of Chinese team participating in "My Karachi" exhibition, Chen Ji hoped that the fair would become a good platform to explore business opportunities. Addressing a joint press conference with President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Wednesday, he said that Pakistan is an important trading partner of China in South Asia.
China has always put emphasis on trade relations with Pakistan. During the 50 years, both sides not only helped each other on international and region issues, but also developed an effective economic co-operation, Chen ji said, adding by taking part in this exhibition our purpose is to enhance the understanding and communication between enterprises of Kashgar and people and business community of Pakistan.
KCCI chief Khalid Firoz on the occasion said as many as 83 enterprises from Xinjiang province of China, under the auspices of Kashghar administration, are participating in the exhibition, which would, in fact be as show-window of the Chinese wide ranging products, including handicrafts, fabrics, toys electrical goods etc.
He said besides this 10 exhibitors of Bangladesh, under the auspices of export promotion bureau of Bangladesh, will be displaying their products at the fair. Sri Lanka Tea Promotion Bureau and Indonesian Consulate also have one stall each.
Khalid Firoz said that the exhibition would be inaugurated by Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Dr Arbab Gluam Rahim on 24 June.
He said a variety of local products, including textile, electronic, foods, plastic items etc would be displayed at the fair.
