Electronic media urged to promote latest methods of teaching

Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy, Dr Hamida Khuhro has emphasised upon electronic media to promote the latest methods of teaching which may lead children to acquire quality education.
This she said in her address as chief guest at the launching ceremony of curriculum based Multi Media's new Teaching System, at a hotel here. The event was held under the auspices of the Vision International, which has developed such Multi Media based teaching system on science, everyday science, biology, and various other subjects.
The minister education said that she is very much exited to see such a latest curriculum based teaching system, which can become a great source of learning not only for children but teachers as well.
Dr Hamida Khuhro said that this teaching system could be introduced to the public sector schools being a great source of learning for children. But, she added, the problem is that many of the government schools are without electricity.
She said that the problem with education sector is that hundreds of children are out of school, and a big number of children are getting education in one and two room schools with inadequate facilities. The minister was of the view that the TV channels can be utilised to promote quality education by this means of learning.
She said that the government is striving hard to not only give every child access to quality education but made available potable water, electricity and computer to every school because it is essential tool of education.
Earlier, Chairman Vision International, Ghayasuddin and Ms Sarwat Pesh Imam also spoke on the occasion. Noted artist Rahat Kazmi and a number of educationists also attended the ceremony.
