Developmental works for laying water, sewerage and Sui gas pipelines as well as construction of physical infrastructure including roads and streets would be completed within a period of one year in LDA Avenue-I, the housing scheme for government employees, at Raiwind Road.
District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood, who is also the chairman of Lahore Development Authority (LDA), said this during a meeting, here on Monday. "The LDA has allocated an amount of Rs 1.472 billion in its new budget for carrying out this task as per schedule," he disclosed.
He said that latest recreational and civic facilities would be available to the residents of the scheme. A community centre was being constructed at a cost of Rs 12 million on a 16 kanals piece of land. Its covered area would be more than 11,000 square feet and it would consist of two big halls, kitchen and other facilities required for holding big functions, he added.
He further said that construction work for the central mosque of the scheme was also under way. An amount of Rs 10 million was being spent for building this mosque which would be spread over nine-kanal piece of land and could accommodate more around 2000 worshippers at a time, he added.
