Inquiry Tribunal of Justice Rehmat Hussain Jaffery, probing into Nishtar Park tragedy, on Monday directed the Sindh law officer to send photographs of a person, who was present in Eid Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) congregation on April 11, to the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) for getting its expert opinion about resemblance of a face with the head of suspected suicide bomber.
The Tribunal directed the CPLC to submit report within two days.
The direction came as Javed Ahmed Chattari, counsel for Pakistan Sunni Movement, told the tribunal that after seeing video of a TV channel, he picked one person sitting in the first row of the sitting area of the congregation whose features of the face resembled with the head of the suspected bomber. He also produced photographs of the said person before the tribunal.
Earlier, the statements of four other injured witnesses, Adnan Mumtazuddin, Mohammad Tariq, Mohammad Saeed and Osman were recorded by the tribunal. However, they were unable to help the tribunal about actual place of blast. The injured witnesses complained that they were not properly treated in government hospitals. The cross-examination of eyewitness Mohammad Bashir Chisti was also completed.
The proceeding of the tribunal adjourned for Tuesday.
