The number of cell phone users in Pakistan during the previous three years went whirling up to 32.3 million from mere 2.3 million earlier. Nearly two million new mobile phone purchasers every month add up to the fast swelling total number of cellular phone users in the country, a private TV channel reported.
Analyst attributed this high-fi growth in the number of cell phone users in the country to the growing stiff competition among the mobile phone companies, who keep launching new attractive packages for their customers almost every month in their endeavours to beat the competitors.
They said that the policy of deregulation in telecom sector, slash in taxes and other reforms had proved to be a strong catalytic agent of change, taking the growth rate in this sector sky-rocketing. Analyst further said that the telecom sector during the three years under review attracted 3/6 billion dollars of investments.
