Distribution system: KESC seeks people's help to improve infrastructure

04 Jul, 2006

Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) spokesman Syed Sultan Hassan said on Monday that organisation was working hard to improve the efficiency of distribution infrastructure and the people should cooperate in these efforts.
Speaking at a PTV programme, he said the new management of the KESC had made comprehensive planing to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people, but it would, of course, take some time in implementation.
He said currently there was peak demand period and the KESC could not undertake its maintenance works because it required closure down of the system for long hours.
Sultan Hassan said that the demand and supply of the electricity was variable phenomena and it was not possible for the organisation to announce its load-shedding schedule in advance.
Regretting the problems being faced by the people in Karachi, he said the KESC was committed to address them, and urged the people to avoid hurdling the efforts of KESC workers, who were trying to improve the quality of service.
He hoped the organisation would have conducive conditions from September to April next to improve the infrastructure and the situation would be much better during the next summer season.
