Millat Tractors Limited (MTL) set a new record of highest-ever production by delivering 24,000th tractor on 30th June, 2006, beating its earlier record of over 22,000 tractors achieved in 2004-2005.
The key of the tractor was handed over to a farmer by Sikandar Mustafa Khan, Chairman Millat Group of Companies, and L.K. Hashmi, CEO of MTL, in a ceremony held in the company premises. Sikandar Khan on this occasion said that it was an outcome of company's commitment to support government for its programme to enhance farm productivity and accelerate the pace of farm mechanisation in the country.
The company is fully geared up to produce more than 30,000 tractors during the FY 2006-2007 and tractor production on double shift basis has already been started. This has created additional job opportunities in hundreds, thus MTL is contributing its due role in national economy with full responsibility, he said.
Khan also apprised the participants of the function that no compromise is being made on quality and that Millat produced Massey Ferguson tractors are fully supported by the company through its countrywide dealers' network equipped with skilful manpower, adequate availability of spare parts and state-of-the-art repair facilities.
