The residents of Larechs Colony, Mughalpura railway station have urged the IG Police Punjab to ensure police patrolling in the area so as to provide protection of life and property to the residents.
According to residents, the area is in the grip of lawlessness, as dacoits are continuing their activities without any check by the area police. In the early hours of Friday, Waqas Akram, a sub-editor of Business Recorder, was laid by four armed dacoits when he reached near his residence after performing his duties.
They tried to snatch cash and mobile phones but on intervention of a security guard of the colony, the dacoits ran away. A few days ago, another staffer of Business Recorder, Shabbir Ahmad was also attacked by unknown dacoits.
Tanveer Ahmad, another resident of the area, said that they are feeling sense of insecurity due to the indifferent attitude of officials of police station Mughalpura. They demanded strict action against negligent police officials and proper security of law-abiding citizens.
