Turkey buys wheat and corn

Turkish state grain board TMO has purchased 15,000 tonnes of wheat and 235,000 tonnes of corn in an import tender which closed on Thursday, European traders said on Friday. The wheat was from Russia. Some 110,000 tonnes of corn was from Argentina and the rest was split between east European states in the EU and Ukraine.
The tender was for the import of up to 300,000 tonnes of corn and 75,000 tonnes of milling wheat. Traders said the following purchases were made: 10,000 tonnes Russian wheat from Grains & Fourrages at $217 c&f, 5,000 tonnes Russian wheat from Dreyfus at $222.27 c&f, 110,000 tonnes Argentine corn from Glencore at $163 to $164 fob, 60,000 tonnes Bulgarian/Romanian corn from Grains & Fourrages at $217 to $219 c&f, 40,000 tonnes Ukrainian corn from Nidera at $223 to $226.50 c&f and 25,000 tonnes Bulgarian/Hungarian corn from Toepfer at $229.79 c&f.
