Qari Hanif Jhulandari, Secretary General of Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan, on Friday demanded of the Supreme Court to constitute a commission to investigate Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa operation and he held President General Pervez Musharraf responsible for the operation against Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa and the death of innocent students and other people.
In a press statement he demanded that General Musharraf should resign immediately and Jamia Hafsa and Jamia Faradia should be reopened for educational activities. He blamed the government for total failure of law and order in the country.
"A chaotic situation has been created in the country and it has been engulfed by bomb blasts and suicide attacks." Explaining the details of Ulema convention he said, "we have also decided to file a petition in the Supreme Court against the government over killing of innocent girl students and children during the operation and demanded that the government must open Lal Masjid for public."
It was also demanded that Maulana Abdul Aziz, his family members, and detained students of Jamia Hafsa should be set free otherwise it would have serious repercussions. Wafaq-ul-Madaris has planned to hold conventions to resolve to protect seminaries. He said that conventions would be held on July 26 in Peshawar, on July 28 in Muzaffarabad, on August 2 in Karachi, and on August 9 in Quetta.
He said that the issues had been settled amicably in the negotiations between the government and Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi, but despite that military operation was launched against Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa to please America and West.
He said that Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa were presenting the scene of Karbala during the operation. He said hapless people of Lal Masjid spent eight days of siege without any water and food. Maulana Ata-ur-Rehman stressed on the need for forging unity among them to combat the evil elements. Qari said Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia lamented that the army, which devours 80 percent of the budget, is involved in genocide of its own people instead of fighting the enemies of the country.
