Ghauri for low cost housing facilities

A long-term and multi-dimentional approach, dedication and effective mechanism must be ensured to provide low cost housing facilities to the federal government employees. Minister for Housing and Works Babar Khan Ghauri expressed these views in a briefing after assuming the responsibilities of his new portfolio here.
The minister said people attach high hopes with the ministry but it is also a fact that it has been confronted with various issues in housing sector. He reiterated that housing facilities for the federal government employees on ownership basis with lower interest rates would be provided.
The minister warned officials that no leniency with regard to discharge of duties would be tolerated in future. "It is our joint responsibility to weed out all kind of corruption and work for the alleviation of public problems," he stressed.
He also lauded the services of former Minister for Housing and Works Syed Safwanullah. The minister was given a detailed briefing about the functioning of ministry, its ongoing and upcoming projects, allied departments and organisations.
The meeting was attended beside others by Secretary Ministry of Housing Abdul Rauf Chaudhry, Senior Joint Secretary Abrar Alam, Director General PWD Ali Akbar Sheikh, DG Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation Shahid Hameed and others.
