Askari Bank launches Zarai credit card

Askari Bank Limited has on Saturday launched Zarai Credit Card, targeted at the consumers related to the agriculture industry. Army Welfare Trust MD Lieutenant General Zarar Azim (Retd) was the chief guest at the launching ceremony.
Askari Bank's President Shaharyar Ahmed, Agha Ali Imam, Head of the Consumer Banking Services, senior bank officials, businessmen and farmers were also present on the occasion.
Shaharyar Ahmed said agriculture was the backbone of the country, which needs to be focused, and for the growth of this vital sector it is a need to finance the farmers.
He also said Zarai Credit Card would serve the need of the farmer community and it has designed for farmers keeping their specific needs in mind. "Askari Bank takes the credit of first to introduce Zarai Credit Card in the region," he added.
He told the audience that bank has 123 branches in all the four provinces that providing comprehensive banking facilities and so far it has introduced 16 banking products for sole agriculture sector.
