Parliamentarians and leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) reiterated their resolve to give historical reception to the party chief and president on their arrival on September 10 at Islamabad despite all odds and harassment of workers by the regime.

Noor-ul-Hassan, MPA Nafees Ahmed Ansari, Dr Khalid Khan and others pledge to continue and speed-up the struggle for ending military rule in the country. They said that Sharif brothers' return to the country was their legal and constitutional right, adding that the harassing tactics of the regime showed its frustration and undemocratic attitude.
"Any attempt of government to arrest Mian Nawaz Sharif will be a 'slap' on the aspirations of millions of Pakistanis," they asserted. Memona Hashmi said that the reported plan of the government to curtail the term of the judges of the Supreme Court would be deemed another assault on independence of judiciary by the military-led regime.
The PML-N leaders lauded lawyers' for launching drive for restoration of true democracy in the country and to block General Musharraf attempt to get himself re-elected. They warned the government against harassing the activist of PML-N in a bid to restraint them from welcoming party leaders. "More than 1500 PML-N activists have been so far arrested across the country, which exposes the anxiety of the rulers", they added. Crackdown against PML-N activists continue.
A report from Multan correspondent adds: Crackdown against the PML-N activists continued in Multan and adjoining districts and another 34 activists were rounded up on Saturday in previous cases. Police have arrested Rao Anees Ahmed on Saturday while other leaguers had gone underground and police failed to arrest them. Twelve activists were held from Mian Chunnu, two (Dr Saeed Ahmed, Muhammad Ameen) from Mailsi, Two (Syed Matloob Hussain Gilani, and Rana Mumtaz Ahmed) from Taunsa Sharif, Muhammad Riaz Bullhar from Rojhan, eight workers from Bahawalpur, two (Ghulam Mustafa and Muhammad Wisal) from Yazman, six activists from Ahmedpur Siyal and Garh Maharaja (Jhang).
Local Magistrate Multan, Ghazala Yasmeen has ordered to bailout Tariq Naeem-ullah when his counsels informed her that he was district general secretary of PML-Q and he had joined PML-N on September 3rd, 2007 but police involved him in a case of burning an effigy of General Pervez Musharraf on April 19, 2004 while neither his name was mentioned in the FIR nor he participated in the anti government rally.
