Deportation is contempt of court: Shahbaz

11 Sep, 2007

PML-N President and former Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif has termed the deportation of Nawaz Sharif as contempt of court by the rulers. Talking to a private television channel Monday after the deportation of Nawaz Sharif to Saudi Arabia, he said this is another black chapter of the history and urged the people to stand against the dictatorship.
Shehbaz Sharif said the spirit of Nawaz Sharif was high and he was determined to meet the challenges in Pakistan. "Except PPP, the entire political leadership of the country is under detention", he said. He said government is so afraid that it sealed the entire country from Khyber to Karachi.
To a question, he admitted that some mistakes had been committed during their era and we learnt the lesson from them and faced sentence, but the cruelties being perpetrated by the present rulers are worst than those. To another question, Mian Shehbaz Sharif said Farooq Leghari framed the cases against Benazir Bhutto, whereas Benazir framed the cases against them.
