Punjab spending Rs five billion on farm-to-market roads

Provincial government is spending more than five billion rupees on the construction of farm-to-market roads in rural areas of Punjab. Official sources told newsmen here on Friday that with this development rural areas would be linked with their respective districts as well as Tehsil headquarters in Punjab.
Farm-to-market roads would enable farmer community transport their agricultural produce to nearest Mandi towns with ease, sources added. Under the programme efforts would also be made to link these farm-to market roads with inter-district roads to decrease travelling and linking those areas with other districts in the province, sources explained.
