Chinese Ambassador Luo Zhao Hui has said the Chinese people are proud of Pakistani friendship and Sino-Pak ties are 'model' for the world. The Ambassador was speaking as a chief guest at an Iftar dinner hosted by Chinese Students Union at the International Islamic University.
Luo Zhao Hui said the presence of over 300 Chinese students at the university reflected Chinese sincerity for speedy economic progress of Pakistan. He wished the university would host greater number of Chinese for study. The IIUI President Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui, welcoming the Ambassador at the campus, spoke of the new agenda to streamline the admission process, which would help induction of more Chinese students.
Dr Siddiqui refuted the allegation and prevailing misconception that the University provided Jihad training to its students. "It was a false propaganda which must be quelled since the IIUI is an open institute," he added.
Congratulating the Ambassador as well as the Chinese people on the national day of China which will be celebrated on 1st October Dr Siddiqui said he was trying to join this celebration by working towards organising a new department for Chinese studies at his university.
Dr Siddiqui also presented university shield to the Ambassador, which was reciprocated by Luo Zhao Hui who presented another shield to University President. Dr Qaisarah Alvi, Farhat Mujtaba, and Muhammad Yousuf President Chinese Students Union were also present on the occasion.
