Export activities in Sialkot are suffering adversely due to 6 to 7 hours long unannounced load-shedding by the GEPCO in the region for the past many days.
The business community alleged that prolonged load shedding has hampered production activities was creating hurdles for the exporters as they are unable to fulfil the demand and deadline of foreign buyers. The exporters fear that if the situation remains unchanged, the buyers may cancel import orders that would hit the national economy with a serious below.
The Industrial sector of this export-oriented city and hub of cottage industry of the country, solicit immediate attention and intervention of the Federal Minister for Power and Water in the matter.
The industrialists also demand that requisite ministry should stop power outages reasoning load shedding or load management with immediate effect so that the exporters, who already have suffered great financial loss due to indifferent attitude of the GEPCO and WAPDA during the past few months; could minimise their grievances.
