Regularisation of employees serving in different departments urged

People's Labour Bureau Southern Punjab has threatened to launch an agitation after August 14th if IRO-2002 was not removed and notification for reinstatement of those workers and trade unionists who were sacked for sequel to take part in trade union activities was not issued.
Addressing a joint press conference here on Sunday Malik Bashir Ahmed, Divisional President of PLB, Syed Kaswar Razi of HBL Union, and trade union leaders urged the government to regularise the employees serving in different departments like Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Utility Stores Corporation (USC), PIA, Pak Steel, and others as per promises.
They said that they were also waiting for implementation of announcement made by the government about setting minimum wages Rs 6,000 per month for unskilled workers.
The employees working in the PBC, the PTV, the CDA, the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Education other government departments showed their concern over the delay in the implementation, they added.
They said that the government should keep its word and it should take practical steps to ensure minimum wages Rs 6,000. A trade union leader said that sanitary workers serving in Town Municipal Administration (TMA) were drawing only Rs 3,500 to Rs 3,900 per month. Similarly Wasa employees were drawing Rs 4,200 to Rs 5,000.
