Federal Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim called on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday and briefed him about his recent visit to Maldives. In a meeting held at PM House, the prime minister said Pakistan welcomes Maldives' transition to democracy after the long rule of Mamoon Abdul Qayyum.
Makhdoom Amin Fahim said the government and people of Maldives are grateful to Pakistan for providing funds for the construction of its parliament building.
