The cabinet of the Bank of Khyber officers Association (BOKOA) held a meeting with NWFP Finance Minister Muhammad Humayun Khan in his office on Thursday. BOKOA, President, Mahmood-ur-Rehman opened the discussion with the introduction of the newly elected cabinet members.
Afterwards, the finance minister was informed about the staff issues regarding bonsuses, housing society and cost of living allowance and it was strongly stressed that the government should play its role in the release of bonus to the staff on the upcoming Eid-ul- Azha.
BOKOA General Secretary Saif-ur-Rehman added that inspite of current economic crises, the bank has earned 600 million rupees profit in the 9 months of the current calendar year, which is 46 percent more than the same period of the previous year. In the light of the fact that this profit is the result of the collective efforts of all the employees therefore, they requested the government for announcement of bonuses in order to keep the employees on the same track and overcome the level of apprehensions among them.
As a feedback, the finance minister asked the Managing Director of the BoK, who was also present to look into the matter and resolve the issue of staff bonus immediately and also consider the other issues on priority basis.-PR
