Students urged to benefit from Chinese education system

Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has stressed upon Pakistani students studying in China to get benefit from the modern Chinese education system and utilise their all out energies for the progress and development of Pakistan after completion of their studies.
He said this while talking to Pakistani community and students during a meeting in Nanjing in China on Thursday, says a message received here. Shahbaz expressed the hope that Pakistani students will use their knowledge and technical skills for the benefit of their country. He assured the students that Punjab government would provide them all necessary facilities.
He added that the aim of progress and prosperity of Pakistan could be achieved only through equipping the young generation with modern education and technical skills. He said that Pakistan is on the road to progress and positive changes are being witnessed in Punjab due to good governance. He further said that the educated workforce educated in foreign countries is the most precious asset of Pakistan and it should utilise its education and expertise to bring Pakistan at par with the developed countries of the world.
During a meeting with the head of Social Security, the Chief Minister Punjab was informed that the social security institution of Nanjing is engaged in vocational training of students, rural population and ex-servicemen so that they could become an important part of China's industrial workforce. He assured Mian Shahbaz Sharif that all out co-operation would be extended for the setting up of a similar institution in Pakistan especially in Punjab.
The chief minister, during his visit to Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that due to non-implementation of the agreements signed between China and Pakistan in the past with regard to agriculture, Pakistan has not been able to fully benefit from agriculture research and progress of China.
In his address to academy faculty, scientists and researchers, he assured that the agreements reached during his recent visit would be implemented at the earliest. Various MoUs were also signed between Punjab and Jiangsu Academy of Agriculture Sciences on this occasion. According to the MoUs, five post-doctoral scientists from Punjab will be sent to Jiangsu Academy for Agriculture Research and the academy will bear entire expenditure.
In addition to provision of scholarships to Pakistani experts by the academy, they will also be given all facilities and incentives of the associate professors of China. According to another MoU, Jiangsu Academy, with the consultation of Punjab government, will form a joint working group for research in agriculture and livestock sectors. Moreover, Jiangsu Academy will send five agriculture experts to Punjab for extending co-operation to agriculture experts of the province for increasing agri-production livestock development and modernising farming system.
During a lunch hosted by Governor of Jiangsu province in honour of Chief Minister Punjab, both the leaders discussed matters of common interest. They also agreed that all MoUs signed between Punjab and Jiangsu will be given the form of formal agreements.
