Bearish sentiments prevailed on the Lahore Stock Exchange on Monday and equities registered declines amid highly reduced trading turnover in the absence of buying support. The LSE-25 index marginally declined by 1.74 points to close at 2823.62 against last Friday closing of 2825.36 while transaction volume squeezed to 600 shares as compared to 7500 shares traded on last trading session of the previous week.
Out of a total of 78 active issues, not a single company closed in positive zone, two stayed in negative column while 76 remained unchanged at their previous levels. First Capital Equities slipped from Rs 163.75 to Rs 131.00 denoting a loss of Rs 32.75, while Pakistan Cement Company was down by 65 paisa. Pakistan Cement Company and First Capital Company were traded with 500 and 100 shares respectively.
