A delegation of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), as a representative of entire business community, has planned to meet Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance and Economic Affairs, Shaukat Tarin here on Friday to express the grievances of business community vis-à-vis the non-implementation of commitment of the government regarding reduction of power tariff.
Well-placed source in FPCCI disclosed Business Recorder here on Tuesday. The sources said that the government has not fulfilled its commitments yet that had been made with the business community in a meeting held recently with President Asif Ali Zardari.It is also revealed that the delegation would also raise the issue of two per cent increment in interest rate by State Bank of Pakistan that had badly hit industrial and economic growth in the country.
Furthermore, the sources said that the delegation would also focus on the failure of the government to give substantial relief to the people of all walk of life, as a result of rapidly decreasing petrol prices in international market, as no trickle down effect has been observed so far in this regard.
In addition, sources said that the delegation would also meet with Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Ahmed Waqar and discuss the lingering problems of valuation advices, as the increased valuation advices created a lot of problems for importers, due to which the imported goods of worth million dollars are going to rotten.
The delegation would comprise of President FPCCI Tanvir Ahmed Shaik, Vice President, Zubair Tufail, former presidents Tariq Saeed, S M Munir, Chairman Standing Committee on Liaison with FBR Shaikh Shakil Ahmed Dhingra and Zakria Usman.
